What is the Rebar Ruler?
The Rebar Ruler is a pocket-sized tool used for measurement and inspection of steel reinforcement (rebar) used in reinforced concrete construction projects. The tool can be used to quickly and easily check rebar size, spacing, and clear cover.
The first prototype of the Rebar Ruler was born in a garage workshop from a piece of scrap plywood, a jigsaw, and a permanent marker after the inventor grew tired of wrestling a standard tape measure to inspect rebar on a project. Experimenting with the tool at inspections revealed how useful it was. It was possible to check rebar size, spacing, and clear cover with one hand - leaving the other hand free to easily snap photos or hold drawings! The tool is patented (U.S. Patent 11,525,659).
The Rebar Ruler is a quick, easy method for measuring and inspecting rebar for reinforced concrete construction projects and would be useful for contractors, engineers, and inspectors alike.
