How do I use the Rebar Ruler ?

Check Rebar Size
The Rebar Ruler includes semi-circle slots around the perimeter for the most commonly used bar sizes (#3 to #10 bars). Simply hold the tool up to the bar in question and find the smallest slot that fits the bar!

Check Rebar Spacing
The length of the Rebar Ruler is 6 inches, allowing the tool to be used as a visual scale bar to quickly check spacing between bars, which are commonly spaced 6 to 12 inches on-center. Simply hold the tool up between the bars in question to verify the bar spacing is per the design!
Check Clear Cover

The width of the Rebar Ruler is 3 inches, allowing the tool to be used to quickly and easily check the clear cover over the rebar. The clear cover is the distance between the outer-most rebar surface and the future concrete face, which is indicated by the limit of the formwork. Clear cover requirements are typically 2 to 4 inches. Simply hold your rebar ruler against the formwork and use the 3 inch measurement along the width of the tool (or the 6 inch measurement along the length of the tool) to measure the clear cover!
